I thought it was great... till my daughter decided to become a rider. Then, 35 years of experience said "try to discourage her". (I didn't). She took the MSF course, got the proper gear, and is doing fine.
Shorter version: Girls have as much right to ride as guys do, and often do it better.

I've been riding for 30+ years. Taught the first wife and dozen or so others how to ride. A matter of fact, I still own the SX-175 Harley-Davidson 2-stroke they learned on. When introduced to the one that later became my current wife (25 years now), she already rode. Her mother rode and her father rode. They both had their own FLH baggers. She had a '73 TX750 Yamaha that she brought herself, while still in HIGH SCHOOL........I kid you not.
The ex @ 5'1" & 113# still rides, and has a FatBoy.
Theresa (wife) took over my FLHTPI when I was called up with Michigan Guard in 2003. I had bought her an 883 Sporty a few years proir for Christmas and tried to get her on the bagger..........it took my going to Iraq for her to do so. When I came back she told me, 'you lost your bike, it's mine.....BUT......
you have a replacement. I currently side an FXDP '04 model.
I have NO PROBLEM with ladies on scooters, it's great. The looks we get traveling, her on the bagger and I on the Glide, just brings a smile to all that see us.
We put 12k on that bike before the season ended, and I didn't return until August 2004. That's some milage buddy. By the way, our four sons also ride and thier girlfriends think 'that's cool, you mom rides that big motorcycle, WOW.'

I have been riding for approxiamately 20 years and can tell you from going to AMA and Grand National Dirt track races that overall guys would enjoy a girl riding on a bike with them more than riding alongside a girl riding her own bike. Me personally, I have no problems with a girl who rides a motorcycle and would welcome the company as someone to share the great world of motorcycling.

I have a good friend who not only rides, she is a bike mechanic as well. she is a way better rider than me. I have even been on the back of her BMW while she is operating.
Whenever I hear a woman talking about how she will only go on the back of a bike I try to encourage her to try riding one. I think female riders are cool.
BTW I own a honda 750 and a yamaha 50.

I think it's great. My wife started riding after we got together because of our height differences (I'm 6'2, she's 5'2) so she couldn't see over my shoulders/head when on the back of the Harley. She started on a Rebel, went to a Shadow and didn't like it, went to an Aprilia scooter about the time I went to a Hayabusa, didn't like it, went to a Ninja and loves it. Now we've ridden on our bikes from Colorado out to Oregon, south to Nevada and back and up to Idaho and back (for our two long trips) and many day type trips.
I now ride a Hayabusa and have put 52,000 miles in it in two years. With the 36,000 miles on the Harley, I've travelled in all lower 48 states and most of the Canadian provinces. She wanted to go with me but not ride on the back of either. Next year we're going to Alaska; me on my Hayabusa and she'll be on her next bike. A Katana or a SV650S (she's still shopping).

My wife rides a custom chopper with a 100 cu. in. motor, she is 5'4" 125 lbs., not at all "hard looking" and loves it when our friends tell her that she rides better than most guys! She got tired of riding 2 up with me so I gave her my old bike and used it as an excuse go get myself the chopper that I've always wanted, now we try to ride every weekend and put about 12,000 miles per year on our bikes.

I have been on two wheels for about 50 years give or
take a few.. I have no problem with ladys riding
motorcycle.. however only if they can really ride and
not just the ones that wanna be riders. It is dangerous
and exciting and love to share the freedom it gives me
and like to share with anyone male or female.

I personally do not ride as am physically challenged. But I find it very cool to see women riding bikes. It is the new millennium after all and women can and do whatever they are capable of doing unlike days of past. Ride on girl!!

I've been riding for years, and I don't see anything wrong with a woman riding a machine.....in fact, the gals I know who ride are better riders than guys. It seems to me that they have more common sense than we do, they don't take as many chances as we do. All in all, they're great, and fun to be with! (and some of them know more about bikes than guys)
