I agree with abqdan, I also think his is the best answer. I'm circumcsized and have tried pulling back the foreskin and leaving it that way to test if I could spend a day with it like that in my underwear, the sensitivity is so intense that it hurts, it can't be done, at least not by me. By the way, you get STD's by sleeping with the wrong people even if you don't keep yourself clean down there.

I once had a Jewish army mate ask me how I could live with being uncircumcised because, as he put it, it's so unhealthy that you might even die from it. I believe the mythology of circumcision vs. non-circumcision comes directly from the Jewish belief system (not that that's bad) but it seems to continue to spread the idea that being uncircumcised is somehow unhealthy, it's an urban myth. As for the women, I think that circumcised looks neater and maybe more erotic, but they have to tell you.

Regarding women's circumcision, there are countries on this planet where it is performed routinely on 12 and 13 year olds mainly for the purpose of keeping these women loyal to their husbands when they marry, why? because they have less feelings there and do not stray as readily. Its an ancient and barbaric practice that mutilates these women and causes pain for the rest of their lives. There are world organizations working to outlaw these practices as they don't just cut off the clit (the only true source of a woman's orgasm) but they apparently cut way much more as insurance, thus all the life-long pain. Most of the resistance to change comes from the men in these cultures, I personally hope that it is outlawed everywhere,,, someday.

I wouldn't have commented, except for the extreme ignorance of a couple of these answers. The American Medical Association and the American Association of Pediatrics (see their websites) both agree that that routine circumcision is unnecessary, and does NOT have any effect on STDs or general hygiene. An uncircumcised child has to be taught to care for his penis just as he is taught to care for the rest of his body - it needs to be pulled back and washed each day once the foreskin is retractable.

I have seen no such report as quoted by an earlier respondent. Had there been such a clinical trial, it would be reported by the AMA and the Lancet (British medical journal) and I find no such reports.

Whether women think it looks pretty or not, they should know that by removing the foreskin, you effectively reduce the sexual sensation and sensitivity for the man. Not only does the foreskin have a large number of nerve endings that are lost, but the head will once permanently exposed, develop a protective layer that further reduces sensitivity.

It's really equivalent to saying a woman should cut off the tip of the clitoris because it looks messy.

i personally prefer a circumsized penis, purely because it looks better to me, but i have to say, about some of these answers....NEVER, EVER pull back a child's foreskin to clean under it, it will retract when it is time and if you teach them about cleaning it then they shouldn't have problems...pulling it back before it is ready to do so by itself can cause much more damage

ive only been with people who are circumsized believe it or not, so i guess i would prefer it, and i consider it more attractive but i guess i wouldnt really mind an uncircumsized one too much
