i heard that you can only play games on your ps3 if its new because if its been borrowed or pre owned it wont work because it will only work on the ps3 it was first played on.
is this true?

i seriously doubht it. they cost so much, they can't rip people off like that!

No this is not true!!!! Have you ever played your own PS2 games on someone elses PS2? Exactly. It works! It will do the same thing for the PS3 . Plus, you can play your old PS1 and PS2 games on the PS3.

Can't imagine why this would be so. I know there are already issues with PS1 and PS2 games not working although Sony say patches will be available soon. So much for backwards compatibility.

um no, but after they released the ps3 in japan the noticed that alot of the older games didnt work right or didnt work at all on the ps3, so for the poeple that want it for its backwards capabilities are going to have limited options on what ill work for it

I read the release info on Wal-Mart.com and it says that you can play ps1 & ps2 games on the ps3 console. The link is below, click on "Launch Guide" when the page opens.
