I agree. As Andrew Dice Clay used to say "if you don't speak the language, get the &*%$ out of the country!
The international language for airline pilots is English, so in the US and the UK, English should be standard and we should not have to press a button to be able to speak it!
Cheers!

Because there are so many people moving to the states that don't respect the cultural difference of speaking english (I will say that there are many who do. Right on you guys!!). And the rest of the country puts up with it and creates an easy way for them to go though life without ever learning it. Go anywhere else in the world and many people won't even look at you if you don't speak their language. I find it strange to meet a person who has lived in the states for 15 years and speaks less english than a 3 year old. It isn't right

I agree!! Last time I checked this is America, and our language is English!! They should have to press one for something else. Not us!! Or, anyone in this country that cannot speak English should have to learn. No other country makes special provisions for people in their country that cannot speak the language. Learn English or GO HOME!!

You don't HAVE to - - you have the option of hanging up and not getting any service what-so-ever. You need to remember that America is a melting pot of cultures - and it was this way well before you were born. Our country was founded on the principal that all men (and women) are created equal and we all have a right to be here, all of us, not just those that speak perfect English.

If you're in Puerto Rico, or in Hawai'i or in Québec or on an Indian Reservation, you should have to press 2 for English.

I agree. At least it's number 1. At this rate it will soon be number 2 or lower.

you don't have to do anything but understand that there are others out there too.
If you had been born French or Hispanic you are probably the kind or person who would be complaining that you had to press 2

I agree with you 100%, what you should do is press 2 and then speak in english and drive them crazy, it's like overpaying your phone bill by 1penny and watch them spend 39cents to give you a refund.
My flag is red/white and blue
