You are going to get so many different answers for this question. Your best bet is to watch a few games, and decide which team is playing well. As is made evident my my user name, I am a major Patriots fan! I'd ultimately suggest you watch their games because they are an amazingly good team. Also, you shouldn't pay attention to win-loss records. A team can still be rather good with some losses, and they might actually be better than teams with no losses yet. So keep that in mind and have fun entering the world of football! it's a great world....

It is a sticky substance defensive backs used to put on their hands. Members of the Oakland Raiders took the use of the stuff to a new level. In the 1970's, Oakland Raiders defensive back Lester Hayes used to smear the stuff all over the upper half of his body. He slathered the stuff on his arms and chest. On a sunny day, he was so shiney, receivers almost had to wear sunglasses to get rid of the glare. You could see it clearly on TV. Footballs stuck to him like a fly sticks to flypaper. It was a beautiful thing to watch if you were a Raiders fan. He made "stickum" famous. As a result, the NFL made the use of "stickum" against the rules.

Stickum is a sticky substance available in an aerosol can or in powder form that is used to give yourself a better grip (such as on a football, baseball bat or pole vaulting pole). Stickum, along with other adhesive or "sticky" substances such as glue, rosin (tree sap), or food substances, etc. were deemed illegal for play in the NFL in a 1981 rule named after Lester Hayes who used Stickum to improve his grip.

it was a substance that receivers used to put on their hands (non-slip resin) to assist them in catching the ball. Long since outlawed (see any photo of Lester Hayes)
