I agree to a point, no sex, but I will educate them on this, because they WILL do it anyway

I disagree with this, if you allow your child to do this then they will do it all the time, if they have to hide smoking and drinking they will do it less.
I know from personal experience, i started smoking at 15 only smoked one or two a day, this went on behind my familys back for 3 years by the time I was 17 i was smoking 5 a day. As soon as I told everyone I smoked I began smoking 10 a day and I now smoke 15-20 a day. Had I not told I know I would still only be smoking 5 a day and less in winter cos I wouldnt want to go out in the cold to smoke.

I agree, but disagree also. There should be limits. No sex or drugs should be allowed. The alcohol should be limited and with supervision. I thank God I don't have any children. I just have stepchildren and nieces and a nephew. I have no say in what they do. Most of them are grown and of legal drinking age anyway. I worry about them all the time, but it is beyond me. I just ask God to keep them safe.

Agree to disagree....
I know that when I was younger and when I wanted to do something like that I was going to do it no matter what....so I suppose that if you know that your kids are doing it then it would be better if they did it at home...although it is not very responsible as a parent to let you children do this....
My friends parents were like this and we would go over there and party ever weekend...so I guess that there has to be a line drawn somewhere when allowing kids to do things like this or not b/c if you as the parent dont let them do it then they will just try harder to get away with it and then who knows what could happen~

I think that the parents should just grow up and stop tryin to be Mr. cool, and be a parent, for if they are letting their children do this in their home than the child isn't gonna learn how to respect their parents and the home that they live in! And if the parents is letting them get away with this sh** now god only knows how they will be when they get older and become adults! I rather not have my kids do none of it in my house of outside of my house!

Disagree, I think that's a cop out. I know someone who is going to jail for having a party with alcohol for her daughter's 16th birthday. The police showed up at her house from a tip and she lied about giving the kids the liquor. It all came of her wanting to be a "pal" to her teenager and not a parent. Good question!

My dad and step mom brought me up that way. Except only the drinking and smokin ciggaretes part! And looking back now I think it was really irresponsible of them! I dropped outta High School coz they let me and now i regret it! But im back trying to fix what i did wrong. I wish I never moved in with them in the first place! It acctually feels like they did it coz they just didn't give a sh*t!

Totally disagree. The only way the kids are going to do it anyway is if the parent's allow it. If they keep a tight rein on the kids, keep them involved in school, sports and activities with other "good" kids things like this will NOT happen.

I think those parents are stupid and irresponsible!!! Parents are supposed to protect their children from that at all costs..... I mean if my parents let me do that....I would want to slap them up beside the head, and ask what the heck is wrong with them. Thank god my parents have more sense than that!

I disagree strongly... this behavior is telling the children its OK to do these things, its encouraging drinking habits and druggies. We should set good examples for our children
