Probably not. I grew up in Africa though. I'm white (100%) BUT I'm not African. Although I spent most of my life there, I'm European. I will always be European even if I'm on Mars. Its not just about where you come from, its about your culture, your mannerisms, your way of living that defines what you are. Thats why I'm European even though I grew up in Africa. I was brought up like a European you could say.

But the Afrikaners who all have white decendants (of the Dutch mainly) and are as white as any European consider themselves very African, hence the name 'Afrika'-ner. They've been there over 300 years and built up South Africa from the ground up basically (since there was not much of a civilisation there when they arrived.) They are white Africans.

I am friends with an albino gentleman named Drew, whose parents are black as night. He, however, is whiter than copying paper. So I guess you don't have to be black to feel african. Me? I'm white, and I felt an african girl at this party one time... does that count?
