Only the House of Representatives can impeach a federal official. They only need a simple majority to issue articles of impeachment (similar to an grand jury indictment in normal cases). The Senate then tries the impeachment to determine if he's guilty and if he should be removed from office. That requires a 2/3 vote.

A president cannot be impeached for bad decisions. Impeachment is for actual criminal acts. Impeachment also does not take a president out of office. Impeachment is done in the House of Representatives, and then the Senate must have a hearing and convict the president of the crime(s) involved before he is forced out of office.
That is why when Bill Clinton was impeached, he was not forced out of office. The House impeached him, but the Senate failed to convict him for lying to a grand jury under oath. Now that was politics at his best. The whole country saw him on live TV lying under oath and playing games with the grand jury's questions, but the dems in the senate kept him from being convicted.
With that in mind, please don't talk about Bush being impeached until you can name a specific felony he has committed.... not just because you don't agree with his decisions.
Best Wishes,
Sue

There is no point in impeaching Bush. For what? He just does what they tell him and Blair to do. He is not the culprit behind all of this. The answer lies in the tomb. He wouldn't care anyway. What are you going to do to him? Impeach him. Ha! What will that do. It couldn't possibly change anything about how business is conducted on K Street. Not when billions and billions of dollars have been made. You are shoveling shet against the tide, I'm afraid. Good try, though. You are pessing in the wind, good heart, though, you've got a good heart. Now, get back to work so you can pay your taxes on Friday, okay?

The only people who want to impeach him are idiots that don't understand that he has not commited any impeachable offenses.
So, as part of America, I don't care how you can impeach him, because he shouldn't be impeached.

The Congress can for "high crimes and misdemeanors" from the text of the Constitution. Misdemeanors has a different meaning than in present common use I believe. There are Constitutional scholars who say that there are about 15 more or less solid counts to do so. It would be a courtesy to him since he was NEVER elected. Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!

What ever for? Waste the time and funds which could be more effective spent on something functional? i'm no fan of W, yet, come on! This overdue into the time period, an Impeachment can be a fiasco and yet another unnecessary rigidity on the monetary device.

He can't be. I think some people are still mad about Clinton being impeached and want pay back.
But read what people say here and get your head out of the sand. It's not going to happen.
