Baaah Humbug! if you have the answer, why ask no question. Scrooge is a composite of all those rich/immensely wealthy people in the world. Do they really care about the true meaning of Christmas, or are they worried about how much more they can line their pockets. There would be no poverty, starving, anywhere in the world if those who hoard money, did something worth while with it.
What am I saying >> In a Capitalist Country, spend money on those who need it; since you can't take it with you. why that would improve the economies all around the world. Pay their employees a decent wage, to allow them to get the things they need to get by, maybe even climb the ladder, and buy those things the rich buy, therefore creating more rich people.
Imaging if everyone around the world had the same amount of money, could buy what their hearts really desired, what do you think they would buy; with no poor people to exploit, no starving people charged money for food; nobody would want for anything; the world would be in a state of GRACE, a grace known as PEACE. Wouldn't that be something to see, feel, and aspire for!
I guess the world will never be at peace, until it rids itself of the virus known as MANKIND; they don't know how to share.

Why focus on his religion. Scrooge was a character meant to show that money isn't everything. The Cratchet family was happy even though they had nothing and a child in poor health. He didn't hate Christmas because he was Jewish. He hated Christmas because he was alone and the only thing he loved was his work. He couldn't work on Christmas.
PS: I don't know any Jewish people who hate Christmas. Not celebrating it and hating it are two different things.

He was a character in Dickens novel "A Christmas Carol". Scrooge was the composite ideal of all those that do not understand love and charity. Yes, he was rich, because money was all he lived for. He had loved once and lost it because he valued wealth more. He unfortunately equated wealth with happiness. The Cratchit family was the embodiment of love and happiness . They had nothing on one level, yet they had everything on another.

Scrooge was an atheist. He was also a money lender. A very strict money lender. He was hated by other money lenders. He was not Jewish and only hated Christmas because it meant no business could be done on that day. He was a very sad man and had lost all joy in living.

CORRECTION!! MOST Jews are NOT rich, nor do they hate Christians. It has been the Christians persecuting the Jews for centuries, not the other way around. I am a Christian too, so wave your bigotry elsewhere please.
Chow!!
