why no one thinks of CANNAVARO as the best defender in the world!!!!! i am sooo angry!!!!

because the strikers get all the action. and the crowd loves to see action. so you have to pay them more for them to get more action. poor defenders have to kuckle up and keep fighting without getting noticed much because the goalie makes ancredible diving saves, the strikers and mids make amazing shots and tricks. and what d we poor defence do? we stop the ball coming our way and send it back up to the front lines... :(

Because when a striker scores a goal, it is much more seen. he makes the highlights on the evening tv sports news, and he gets the fame.
But a good defender who plays 90 mintues and does not get much goal scoring chances, does not have as much immidiate fame. As for Fabio Cannavaro, formerly of Juventus, had a great world cup and finished 2nd in voting behind Zidane. I think people knew how well he had played in the finals.

Because strikers are the one who will win the match. If non of ur striker score. And the defenders are great and defend and the opponent did not score as well, the whole game of the club or country will be 0 - 0 all the way. So strikers are impt. So they are highly paid.

i guess u could call it the difference between game-winning and game-saving. Strikers have a higher value because they are usually the ones that win the games for u by scoring goals. and of course they get all the fame because of that

Because they dun score goals often....
But yeah, I agree, they deserve to be credited better and that cannavaro is one great defender :)
