HUMAN BLOODY RIGHTS ACT, which Blair brought in to make his wife RICH

This distinction between (deserving) victims and (undeserving) criminals is false. People who are offenders are statistically more likely to be victims of crime themselves. Life is not a movie where the "good guys" and the "bad guys" are in nice little easily identifiable groups.

Did you ever drive through a red light? Or download a movie from the internet? Or smoke cannabis? Steal something when you were a kid? Get up and drive in the morning and then think that maybe there could have been alcohol in your system from last night? The only difference between what society labels a "criminal" and the rest of the population is generally that "criminals" got caught.

I work with criminals every day, and I don't see a lot of rewards in their lives. Once they're released from sharing a cell 23 out of 24 hours with a total stranger, who's probably violent, they end either going to live back with their mum or homeless. They struggle to get a job because of their prison record. Nearly all of them had some kind of depressing, awful childhood involving violence, or abuse, or time in care. Many of them have mental health problems; many more are addicted to drugs and alcohol. A scary proportion of them can't read or write adequately to get a job.

Gee, I wish I could swap places with them, don't you???

A very good question, it looks like that criminals are getting away with crime and getting a clap on the back for doing it, yes even the guys that were forced to go cold turkey got I think £3,000 crazy that's what I say ,looks like Britain has a law for the criminals and a law for the innocent but it seems to be the innocent pays, Perhaps we are run by criminals as well?????

The first politician of any party who stands up and will put the human rights of the victims first and foremost will undoubtedly become prime minister.
When will the PC liberals get the idea that committing a criminal act relinquishes all but the barest of your human rights, if you choose to commit a crime you choose to lose your rights - hardly a difficult life choice.

It has a lot to do with the liberal mindset. Whenever a contry become too liberal you see things like this happening. We have the same problem in the US. You can compare various states here and see that the more conservative the state the less often that kind of nonsense takes place. Like here, if you want to reduce this kind of stupidity you need to start p[ressuring your lawmakers to make the criminals accountable and replace stupid judges.

I don't understand this either. God help the home owner in the U.K. who shoots someone who is breaking into his house, even if the housebreaker is a convicted criminal and/or is armed. The home owner goes to jail and stands a civil lawsuit as well.

Of course, your Democrat Representatives and Senators would like to change things so American home owners are treated the same as the Brits.

God knows maybe we have gone soft! I just read a 75 year old veteran has been jailed as a council tax martyr and last night on Trevor McDonald a man who mowed down a young man on motorbike got a fine - what sort of country are we living in?

Political correctness - nothing more, nothing less - this whole country is utterly paralysed by it... things like "infringement of human rights" get raised and prisoners get treated like royalty, totally ignoring the point that they did wrong and need to pay a price (such as forgoing luxuries such as TV).

UK is getting softer on criminals as well, I heard yesterday that people that have to go cold turkey when they are in prison are going to get compensation as its against their human rights to have to go without drugs!

How does that work??
