Would Jesus cut funding on education, so that he could provide superfulous funding to the military? Would Jesus run up the National Debt, deplete Natural Resources and let future generations deal with the consequences? Would Jesus cut funding for the poor?

Being a Christian relates to your personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It has nothing to do with your political affiliation.

You can't be serious!!! If so, allow me to educate you...

Funding on education has not truly been cut... instead, funds are diverted into state specific aid so the states can decide how best to invest in their education programs. This is for improved efficiency as the Federal government is not known to be very efficient in it's spending!

While the National Debt has increased some, it is less that the increase to the Gross Domestic Product. The net result is actually less debt per income. In other words, your looking at $7000 of debt versus $5000 of debt when the income went from $50,000 per year to a $100,000 per year. More debt? Yes, but in comparrison to the increased income your debt ratio is MUCH better!

So far, we've not tapped into the oil reserves under restricted Alaskan Wildlife Preserve. Our natural resources appear to be solid with no decline. What on earth could you be referring to?

The Democrats have already begun talking about repealing the withholding deductions that Bush gave us which will place a strain on poor families. Your argument here is unsupported.

Let me add some issues now! The Liberal Democrats are supporting gay marriage and abortion, two issues which Jesus is clearly against if you take the Bible literally.

So, how can one consider themself a Christian if they vote Republican? The answer: EASILY!!!

This must be a hypothetical question since in reality education spending has increased, the national debt has increased under both parties, and natural resources have been depleted under both parties (the population has been increasing with no slow down in sight, trees have been cut down continuously since the US has existed to house an ever increasing population).
All I can do is look to the Bible for what Jesus would do. He taught all who would listen. He did not rely on the government to do this. He supported the military of Israel. He was a carpenter. He cut down trees to build the necessities for everyday life. He told people to pay their taxes and give their tithes to God.

OK, since I am not a republican I'll help you out.

The no child left be hind program (jury is still out on this) may not be the best program but has increased federal funding of PUBLIC schools...only you PRIVATE school funding dropped. The ONLY thing the last congress did was vote to SUPPORT the environment...case and point designation of protected marine wildlife area (an increase of 600%). Cut funding to the poor???? Where did you get THAT nugget of BS? Funding of ALL federal programs have gone up over the last six years (hence the national debit)...that is why voters rebelled last week. Bush is the FIRST president to have an energy policy since CARTER! (remember Clinton wouldn't because as a Democrat he was afraid it might cost Union jobs).

So that leaves you with Military spending...true it is too much but are you saying we should send our troops to war without body armor...because that is what Jesus "wants"?

You are wrong on EVERY one of your points....sorry

First of all, funding for education is NOT a problem in this country. We spend plenty - we just don't get a great return on our investment thanks to the teacher's union. I graduated with way too many functional illiterates, and based on the spelling I've seen on Yahoo Answers, things aren't improving. Is NCLB perfect? Heck, no - but it's a start. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to ensure that teachers are qualified to do their jobs.

Jesus would share Bush's belief in faith-based programs to help the poor, don't you think?

"Bush’s Texan philosophy for the poor: up-by-the-bootstraps
From 1995 to 1998, the poverty rate in Texas decreased more than 10%, compared with an almost 9% drop nationwide. Tax cuts & economic reforms have resulted in the lowest state unemployment rate in nearly 20 years; welfare reform has cut public assistance rolls in half; and legal changes have expanded the role of religious groups in helping the poor.

In many ways, Bush’s record dovetails with the Texas worldview, which places the burden for escaping poverty on the poor, not the government. Conservative groups and analysts praise the governor and his actions precisely for their strong embrace of basic Republican philosophies. Texas has an up-by-the-bootstraps culture and people often loath to give-or ask for-help. The Texas Constitution prohibits the Legislature from spending more than 1% of the state budget on poor children. Cash welfare benefits are $201 a month for a mother and two children in 1995. California, by comparison, pays $611 a month for a similar family."

Natural resources are MANAGED in this day and age - anyone telling you otherwise is full of it. Proper natural resource management is a good thing - poor resource management leads to devastating wildfires like you've seen in California and Alaska. Open ANWR!! It's what the majority of Alaskans want, and since only 1% of all our land is privately held, it's total BS for the lower 48 to dictate what we can do w/our resources.

Jesus would most likely want us to defend ourselves, and if you think that there isn't a war against the west right now, there's nothing I can tell you to convince you otherwise. I guess all the Islamic extremists calling for death to America and being very clear about the fact they want to kill as many of us as possible means nothing to you.

I don't think Jesus would approve of you being so self-righteous and arrogant - do you?

You cannot have your religious beliefs dictate you to a political party. While my beliefs can influence what I believe to be right and wrong in the public forum (such as abortion, etc) it DOES NOT cause me to pledge my allegiance to a group created by man.

Jesus was not a politician, so I don't know what "he would do" in regards to our political policies. If you educated yourself on the current funding of the government you would actually know that Republicans have spent RECORD amounts on education since Bush took office, and our military is in NO WAY over-funded. There are troops who qualify for WIC and Food Stamps and many deployed troops do not have all of the supplies they need.

Educate yourself and stop pulling the religion card. It will not make you appear more intelligent.

Jesus would have probably homeschooled. God supports the US military (read any portion of the OT) and had His own army to boot. Jesus would probably not run up the national debt. However, any bit of research would show Democrats have contributed greatly to that problem. Jesus instructed the church to care for the poor and probably would not have wanted the government doing it. And, as the other poster mentioned, God's word clearly denounces homosexuality and abortion, while commanding protection of Isarel, diligent work of able bodied people (as opposed to collecting welfare). Regardless, all humans sin and fall short of the glory of God, Democrat and Republican. As long as any leader serves his or her own selfish ends rather than perpetuating that which God ordained that politician will come under God's judgement. Overall, Republicans vote along party lines to protect the unborn, protect the sanctity of marriage, protect God's chosen people, and protect prayer and God's laws.

You are very impressive to know what Jesus would do.
It's great that you can speak for him.
I'm just guessing that why Christians vote Republican is because the Democrat Party does not believe in God.
I all I know is that Jesus cast the liberals out to the swine; and then forbid anyone to eat pork.

nicely as a Christian i've got self assurance the two the Republican occasion and Democrat occasion are corrupted there is not any doubt approximately that. who're those politicians representing the lobbyists who fund them they care not something with regard to the undesirable or elderly. look at it like this with the aid of spending of President Obama Congress had to diminish classes and what became into decrease became into specifically classes that help the undesirable and elderly and this became into accomplished under the Presidential administration of a Democrat. and that i'm specific that him residing in the White residing house along with his relatives and having clothier outfits, limousines, and air stress one, he has lost touch with what being undesirable is like with the aid of fact money could make human beings forget. with regard to Christian values i could could desire to declare the Republican occasion is extra in track than the Democrat occasion and what scares me with regard to the Democrat occasion it has substitute right into a Socialist occasion that could desire to convey approximately civil rights being taken away to regulate to what society needs besides the reality that it may be conflicting with my non secular ideals. So the two events are evil in my view however the lesser of the two evils may be the Republican occasion. by making use of ways my relatives in Russia became into killed off by making use of Communists.

Would Jesus support abortion? Would Jesus do like Bill Clinton and bomb Baghdad for four days because of their WMD program and kill people? Would Jesus kill people in Europe to remove Slo mal from power? Would Jesus drop two atomic bombs on Japan and kill 210,000 people? Would Jesus advocate anyone going to war under any set of circumstances? Jesus, not those pompous clowns on the christian television network, Jesus?

No! The real question is how can you consider yourself an America and a Christian? You can't. Another reason Jesus said no man can serve two masters because he'll either love one and hate another or he'll cling to one and despise the other; you can't serve God and man. As far as war, Jesus said "don't resist an evil man, if he slaps you in one cheek turn to him the other one" and he said "Love your neighbor AND your enemy, bless those who curse you, do good to those who persecute you, pray for those who deceitfully use you so that you may be the sons of you father in heaven; he causes is sun to shine on the just and the unjust and his rain to fall on the righteous as well as the wicked, therefore be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect."

But if we don't go to war someone else will kill us right? Jesus said "don't fear those who can destroy your body; fear the one who can destroy your soul."

So do you think Jesus would advocate anything this, or any other nation does in the world? Your comments are not made to make people think of something but slanted to try prejudice people against a political party. Shame on you.

Isn't it ironic that Republicans are going to read this question and think it was a misprint. Jesus was know for serving others. Especially those who had misfortune in their lives. People with fortune in their lives didn't and don't need serving. If you read or study Jesus life, you will see that he was and is undoubtedly a liberalal. At least in the sense that the Republicans have defined it. Given that Jesus is a liber, I am proud to say that I am too.
