Yes, and I think we need more help from other countries too. I think that if we put a huge mass of boots on the ground and overwhelm the terrorists, that would be the way to go. I think that we should systematically start from the top of Iraq and fight our way down and wipe out the terrorists.

Absolutely, positively not! The fact that Americans are dying every day for a senseless war is a pathetic statement on the management of this country.

Here's my theory - it all starts with a simple lie, then another and another and pretty soon hundreds of american soldiers are dying on foreign soil. Where is the sense in that? We spend too much time butting into other countries' business and not enough time taking care of our own.

We have children being born and abandoned, people living in substandard housing, poverty, just about everything we go to fight against in other countries.

If we took the BILLIONS of dollars this "War" is costing us and invested it in our own people, we could solve a majority of the problems in the US. Then there's the National Debt. Taking away the expense of would would seriously curtail its growth and might even beable to shrink it a bit.

Basically the reasons not to be involved inthis war far outnumber the dollars it's costing the taxpayer. We just need to impeach the presidency that started this and get sane leadership in place.

really i don't want to have any troops over there..but since we "have too", the ones that have been over there for some time probably are getting tired and to refresh our troops is to have new ones..i love that they are fighting for our country, but if you think about it, they arent fighting for our country, they are fighting for Iraq..why couldn't we just keep our nose in our business and don't worry about what other ppl are doing? This has been going on for way too long..Way before I was born..

Yes but only if we really want to win. in order to win over there we need to stop forigen fighters from coming across the border from Iran and we need to crush any remaining resistance to the new government, then we will be able to bring the troops home with a victory.

Not with the present paradigm. Our troops have been mishandled and were not there for the right reasons. Mayor Daly said in Chicago "Our police are not here to prevent disorder, butt to preserve it!" Everyone joked that he mispoke. But I think it was one of those classic Freudian slips revealing the truth. The same applies to Iraq.

Heck yes! That would be a good idea. That's the best way to solve the problem in iraq. If we just "cut and run", Iraq could have a civil war and that would be awful!

no, that was the problem with nam, we sent more and more troops without making a withdrawal plan

145,000 is enough troops, we only have 23,000 in afghanistan and things are goin somewhat right there
