Why is it that when you ask a question that people either give you an answer that has nothing to do with your question, like they read more into it than what is there, or they just totally criticize you for your question and don't actually help you. If people wanted criticizm and not help then this wouldn't be here...... So why do poeple do that? It is so annoying!!! I have noticed this not only with my own questions but with others also.

I might've put this question under a category related to human psychology instead of pets.
But in all seriousness, I think ESPECIALLY when you deal with pet questions, people fear the worse. Let's face it, there's lots of stupid people out there begging for help when the obvious answer is "Git yer critter to the vet!". So it makes people critical, and assume the worse.
It is human nature for you. The more I know people, the more I like my dogs/ horses ;)

I figure it's one of two reasons. 1. They don't really know the answer. 2. They are afraid to give you their answer. Or, they are so damn sanctimonious they only see things their way and anything else is wrong. You might be threatening their own little view of things with your question. It's easier to criticize than to have to actually think about something that varies from their type of thinking. Goddess forbid they open themselves up to something new.

They only want the points! I have a question for you now, why are you asking this question under PETS? That bugs me is when people ask questions under certain categories that have nothing to do with that category.

They just want the points!!! If I want a serious answer to my questions, I go to a forum designed for only that subject (ie fish questions). I try to give serious suggestions to the questions on here, and if I don't have a clue, I don't answer them. I guess my favorite stupid answer is "I don't know".
