Hi guys. On my last entry I told ya'll I would be having a breast reduction. I was curious and wondering how it would help me. See, I'm very insecure about myself. I'm not a small person and I have giant breasts. Once I get the surgery done, would it help me lose weight and boost my self-esteem? B/c that is the one thing that I do not have right now is self-esteem. Would it help? I was told it is life-changing.

OMG! IT WILL CHANGE IT LIKE U WONT BELEIVE!!!

i had a breast reduction in may 2006, for health reasons ONLY! altho i did hate the way they made me look they made me look hughe! i had to wear 4x shirt just so it fit over my breast and long enough to cover my tummy (im a chubby girl), altho i did expect to feel better about myself , my appearance, but not in a illion yrs would i have imagined it being this great! i walk with my held high!!! everyday! even tho im still fat, i dont care! I was a 44DDD ( i was wearing a 46DD) down to a 42D, they removed 6lbs! i nearly fell over when they told me how much! i never thought they were THAT big! when the swelling went down , and the breast tissue settled, i was amazed at how good they looked! they used to sag down below my belly button with no bra on, when i sat down with no bra on they would sit in my lap! when i had a bra on and bent over they would slip out a bit and when i stood up, i would have to adjust them back into the bra! it was just a night mare! i had red marks in mt shoulders, the weight of them caused me to have indents in my shoulders, i've had big breast for 10 yrs! i was 12 when i got them.... i had to loose 20lbs before having my sugery ( wanted this more than anyhting) so i joined a gym and went every day for and hr and half, doin cardio, and sit ups, and running, i lost 17lbs in 3 and a half weeks, really dont go to the gym much anymore, cuz i am just so confident with myself i dont care that im still fat! LOL! i used the surgery as motivation, and thought that after the surgery i would motivate myself by thinking i could be skinny but i dont even care! LOL! i think this is the best thing a girl could do for herself, whether it be for cosmetic or health reasons! GO FOR IT! AND GOOD LUCK!

I believe any anatomical part of your body that does not appear in proportion with the rest of you would lead to confidence issues. You may need a reduction to boost your self-esteem. Large breast tissue can cause many other health problems, like curvature of the spine, stress on the neck, back, shoulders etc. Not to mention difficulty exercising because those darn things are just in the way! Don't quote me on this but, I've also heard that people with large breast tissue are more susceptible to breast cancer. On one episode of a plastic surgery show the surgeon remove almost 6 total pounds of breast tissue. Imagine the weight lifted off of her shoulders literally!

My mom had a breast reduction some years ago, and she said that it definitely changed her self esteem and she felt much better about herself after having it done. Hope all goes well for you!

I dont think it will. I think you have to love who you are and not how you look. No one (not even super models) find themselves perfect. Everyone has things about themselves that they dont like. So unless you are doing it for health reasons such as back problems, I wouldnt do it. Why dont you instead take the money and get a personal trainer. Get into shape. The more fat you lose the smaller your breasts will get because they are mostly fat tissue.

Good luck in your decision
