You can't steal a car from someone, give it to someone else, and then the someone else claim it was given to them fair and square.
If your name is not on the title, then the car isn't yours. If the ex's name isn't on the title, then it isn't hers either.

Unfortunatly, if the car was never titled in your name, no matter who your witnesses are to the "gift" giving, you have no legal grounds to stand on..
Your boyfriend is still married, and he went to jail..
Everything that is in his name is legally hers untill the divorce is over..and then the judge will decide who gets what..
Yes, she can report it stolen and you will for sure be prosecuted..I hate to bring you the bad news, but do not be mad at her..it is his fault for not having the car titled into your name..
So, give her the car back, it will save you alot of money and legal problems ...
You need to look at it this way, what if you were the wife and she was the girlfriend... The wife has has the legal rights, the girlfriend has nothing...

Maybe you can go to the jail and ask for his personal effects so you could get the papers out of his wallet. If she signed the papers over to him, then the woman can report the car as stolen, but then she wouldn't have any papers to prove it was hers.

If your boyfriend is in jail, did it ever occur to you that he gave you a stolen car? If the woman who he "bought" it from says it was stolen then it probably was. If he had the proper paperwork in his wallet when he was arrested then the police will have it. Go ask at the police station. If it wasn't in his wallet and he can't tell you where it is then unfortunately for you, it isn't really your car.

Soon to be ex, means he is still married to her, and the car is community property, ie, his& hers. You are his girlfriend, NOT his current spouse, and have no legal claim under community property laws, since they are not yet divorced. You can take it to court, but she does have the law on her side. Good luck with that.

Rearrange his wardrobe - with a pair of scissors. Just like any other woman would do... Tell him extra ventilation is in this year - it's gonna be a long hot summer!

Actually it is not yours unless you have the papers showing it is. Given your bf's past, do you think maybe just perhaps he did not acquire it legally? You should give it back.

I guess if the name of your boyfriend is on the registration, the car belong to him OR TO HIS WIFE.
