Hmm...
You can bring a nice bottle of wine or sparkling cider, a nice centerpiece, or a bouquet of flowers. Or, you can bring some gourmet coffee for after dinner (with either liqueur or flavored syrup!) to go with the pie.
You can also offer to make part of the dinner (if you're comfortable with that!).
Don't forget to offer to help wash dishes after dinner. :) :)
Good luck!

Well, since Thanksgiving is a time to share with family, I think that something the family will have for a long time, something that can be used for years and something that signifies the traditional holiday....I would like to suggest a Thanksgiving wreath for the front door. Wreaths are a sign of welcome, a great decorator touch and can be handed down from family member to family member. They can be cheap or expensive. You can even impress him and his family by being creative and making the wreath yourself.

You! freshly scrubbed, nicely dressed.... and smiling...willing to help in kitchen, if appropriate , and you full of gratitude for life and their son...and the wonderful day and dinner...Try to remember all names of close family and bring a small hostess gift for his mom... a small foto of the 2 of you in a tiny frame? a calendar for next year w His baby foto enlarged on the main page...most foto developers can do this in an hour ! Do not drink too much or swear... thank them when you leave and give his mom a hug, If it feels right , have fun and enjoy all that comes your way...

Go simple, but make it yourself. A really nice pie, cake, or something of that nature. Do dessert...leave them remembering you.
If you want to go even simple, get a good bottle of wine. Spend $20.00 or so and get the wine steward at the market to help you pair it to the dinner.

Wow...I haven't been in this type of situation for years. I would think fresh bread, rolls or pie(s) from a local bakery. One year I brought a nice basket with gourmet deli food items. I'm glad you know not to come to a party empty handed!

A nice flower arrangement. A bottle of wine if appropriate. They will probably have all the food they will want.

whilst going over somebody's homestead for dinner (or regardless of), I continuously confirm I convey something. i'm specific his mom might celebrate with you calling her up and asking what you ought to convey. yet once you sense uncomfortable doing that, convey a barren area or a bottle of wine.

How about rolls?
That way, you don't risk having too much dessert and you don't have to worry about finding the right wine.
