If you think that Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Etc are upscale you really shouldn't be too worried about the overweight waitstaff...

I'm amused that you classify Red Lobster and Uno's as "upscale places."
If fast-food is the "lower-class" of restaurants, then certainly places like Olive Garden would be the middle class.
"Upscale" or "upper class" would be more like (Arnie) Morton's of Chicago, Lawry's Prime Rib, maybe even P.F. Changs.

I think you need to get out more. And no, I've never noticed that fancier places tend to have more or less over/underweight waitstaff.

Your idea of upscale and my idea of upscale are really different. I mean radically different. Olive Garden? Red Lobster? Those are not upscale places. However, yes I see overweight wait staff at all kinds of eating establishments.

Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Pizzeria Uno are upscale places? Not where I live.

Yes I have, and the only thing I can say is why is it such a problem...one less person on welfare, who cares about their weight.
BTW since when are Olive Garden, Red Lobster considered upscale?

Olive Garden is upscale?? Sheesh - you people never cease to amaze me!!!

But, now that you mention it, thinking back - youre right - Ive not seen one fatty server at my local Red Lobster or Olive Garden...and I live in the ghetto (where McDonalds is king)!

You consider those upscale places? You need to get out more!

I have worked at places similar to those (longhorn, cooker, Jeckels and Hotel Discovery) in my early 20's and we had overweight waitresses. There was no discrimination...but most of those that applied were young students who were not overweight.

your list does not include a single upscale place. just chains that are not yummy or classy. but yes at actual upscale restaurants i have seen large women and men employees, be they hosts, sommelier, managers or servers. you have to go to upscale places and actually investigate before you can call it fact. it's just a poorly thought out theory and not very accurate.

You don't really think that those are upscale do you? To answer your question , no I don't see many fat waitresses any where, and I am all the happier for it. The reason restaurants don't hire fat women is it's bad for business since when tha customers see fat women they have a tendency to eat less, so they won't get fat too.

Honestly I haven't seen many overweight waitresses at those types of restaurants. Next time I eat out I will pay better attention.
