It depends, are your utility wires above ground? If they are, there is a greater chance of your cable as well as power going out because they are exposed as opposed to buried cables. If they are buried, I would check where the cables come into the house, they could be exposed or lose. Hope that could help!

Incliment weather can affect anything, even cable television. Generally, it won't, but its still possible. However, it's still likely that it was just coincidence, but it isn't out of the realm of possibility that the rain did affect the signal. Really depends on a lot of little factors, but I wouldn't worry about it. It shouldn't happen all the time. If it does, however, you need to talk to Cox and work something out.

Seriously, you probably have an exposed connection somewhere that needs to be sealed or weather-proofed. I'd place a service call.

I have Mediacom and anytime we have bad weather, I lose internet, but not cable tv - 2 years later, and they are still at a loss to explain it, or fix it.
