Not if your other ovary is alright. Like numerous parts of the human anatomy ... such as the brain, if one side fails ... the other part/one takes on the work for the both of them. Therefore, it’s not necessarily true ... that you would only ovulate every other month. You can, and may, ovulate each and every month.
I tried to conceive for 10 years. I had a tipped uterus, as well as my uterus being "spongy" and twice it's normal size. I had pelvic adhesions, which had twisted my fallopian tubes around ... and bound them to my bowel. I also had cysts on both of my ovaries ... the one on my right ovary turned out to be a dermoid cyst ... which had burst and hemorrhaged, so my OB/GYN had to remove it.
Now ... going by all of this, you wouldn't think it was possible for a pregnancy to occur right? Wrong ... my period was late one month, so I did a HPT ... I couldn't believe my eyes!! I gave birth to a very healthy 8lb 5 oz baby boy. Now, wait a minute ... not done yet ... lol. After his birth the doc gave me birth control pills, and after reading the possible side effects ... I chickened-out and didn't take them. Well ... ONE month later ... PREGNANT again!! I gave birth to a beautiful 7lb 11oz baby boy. My sons are not quite a year apart ... in fact, they're the same age for 9 days.
So, as you can see ... you're soooo still able to get pregnant. Don't fret ... just go with the flow, and when the time is right ... you will be a mommy.
I know how you feel hun, and I wish you all the best ......
BTW: Welcome to Y!A !!

I was diagnosed with 1.8" ovarian cysts and was taking birth control pills per my doctor's suggestions. Weeks and months went by but my ovarian cyst was still there (although it was still the same size). Then I found your amazing book.
During the first week of following this program, I started feeling a lot better and the pain started fading away. It was magical. Nine weeks later, my doctor says that my cyst is gone! I cannot describe how wonderful I feel gazing at the ultrasound results.
I just wish every woman knew about this method. There are so many hopeless women out there that are not even aware there is a natural solution to this problem.
I will warmly recommend this amazing program to all my friends.

RE:
Can an ovarian cyst cause me not to get pregnant?
I am 22 years old, My boyfriend and I want to get married and have a baby. I recently found out I have a large cyst on one of my ovaries. I have always had an irregular period, but it's always come. Could the cyst be why I haven't gotten pregnant yet??

Occasionally ovarian cysts do cause irregular periods, particularly in a condition called polycystic ovaries in which the hormonal system that regulates the ovaries is disturbed, causing them to form a large number of cysts. More frequently, however, menstrual irregularities are due to other conditions, such as pregnancy, menopause, or thyroid problems.
Some women who have trouble becoming pregnant also have polycystic ovaries, but this problem is only one of many possible reasons for infertility. If you are having difficulty becoming pregnant, speak with your regular obgyn or with an infertility specialist.

In most cases cysts dont keep you from getting pregnant, although if its a severe cycst thats infected, you might not be ovulating correctly from that particular ovary, which means you're might only be fertile every other month.
But its unlikely.
Even young healthy people can take up to a year to get pregnant.

The cyst could be blocking the egg from coming down on that side, but if the other ovary does not have a cyst, you should be fertile every other month.
Good luck to you!

Absolutely. Happened to my ex g/f. She had 2 children already though. But, when they found the cysts, she wasn't able to get pregnant. She had one ovary removed surgically, and in order for her to conceive (which she did by the way) she had to take fertility drugs though. As long as your other ovary is ok (and is the one that releases your eggs) you might still be able to become pregnant, but you will probably have to see a fertility specialist. If the infected ovary is real bad, it may have to be removed with surgery.

The cyst on your ovary can cause you not to ovulate like you should, but it shouldn't keep you from ttc if you wanted too and went to your doctor. Your OB/GYN should be able to help with this and tell you the things you need to do to see if this is the problem that is keeping you from getting pregnant.
Good Luck and
God Bless
