Not at all. I was prescribed prenatal vitamins for being anemic (these had higher iron than the standard multi-vitamin).

Absolutely not!! Every dr will put a woman on prenatal when they start trying to become pregnant. They do have different levels of certain vitamins than a normal multi vitamin so just check labels if you are in search of getting some extra of a certain type of vitamin.

This is not bad for you. You may find that you become constipated, prenatal pills contain iron and this often causes constipation, so drink lots of water and eat lots of fiber! But a lot of women take prenatal vitamins if they are planning on getting pregnant so that they know their child will have the best start.

It is fine, but honestly usually not worth the extra money.

Compare the amounts of each vitamin/mineral in a multi-vitamin and in prenatal vitamins and you will probably find that it is cheaper to buy one of the cheaper multi-vitamins and add extra folic acid, iron, and/or calcium. (If you take something like green+ you will get folic acid, iron, and calcium in a natural form that is better for you anyway)

If you are trying to get pregnant many doctors recommend starting prenatal vitamins before you are pregnant. I started taking them and it took us over a year to get pregnant. Some of the vitamins (like folic acid) you need to have in your system BEFORE pregnancy. There's no harm in it.

Also many doctors recommend to continue taking the same vitamins for a couple of months after giving birth too.

Not at all. In fact, it is best to start taking prenatal vitamins when you are trying to conceive rather than waiting until you are already pregnant.

It's not bad at all!!! I took prenatal pills over a year and a half before I got pregnant. They're GREAT!!!! I will be taking them after my pregnancy as well. I don't feel like I get sick as much and I do get sick quite often. My friend's mom is still taking them and she's well into her 70's.

Take them!

No, it is actually recommended for women from 19-35. It has a closer mix of vitamins for women in that age group, where as the most of the one a days for women, cater to women over 35 who have different needs.

No, it isn't bad. The blend of vitamins is just narrowed to specifically what a pregnant woman would need. My mom gave them to my sister and I when we were in our teens.
I don't even think they would harm a guy. I wouldn't let my husband try them just cause I'm not 100% sure! LOL.

a vitamin is a vitamin. as long as you follow the directions and don't over do it you will be fine. one vitamin a day may help you feel better and give you more energy.
