I had DC 6 weeks ago. Sex with husband (with ok from Dr) 2 weeks after DC. Still no period. Fatigue but no breast tenderness like before when I was pg. Should I take a test. Will I still have hormones in my system from being pg six weeks ago. Will the pg test pick up old hormones from 6 weeks ago or are they out of my system????? Please don't tell me to call the Dr. I would like opinions from others who may know as well. Thanks

The POINT is, others DO NOT KNOW!! Certainly no one on this site has the training, qualifications, and license to give you medical advice. See your doctor and find out for sure. He is familiar with your history and is one who can answer your questions. Take no chances with information from amateurs. See your doctor!!

Chow!!

I don't know if the hormones are in your body from the last pregnacy, but probably yes.

I heard that you have vaginal bleeding after DC for a while.

Anyways, just give it more time and use condoms so you don't get pregnant so soon after the DC. Just like after having a baby, the woman bleeds up to 3-5 weeks after giving birth, so the next period, which will be her first after the baby, might take a while, since your body has gone through an ordeal.

You know, I don't believe in home pregnancy tests, and they cost too much money. It is easier to go to the doctor, and get some blood taken, and they can see from that if you are pregnant, and how long you have been pregnant.

Women who are underweight for their height don't get periods, so I don't know if you fall in that category.

All the best.

hormones can last up to 6wks after but i don't think you'll get a period so soon as they take 99% of the lining away from the womb so it may take a lot longer to have a period you need i think 5mm for an egg to settle in, if it doesn't you have a period. but the best way to find out if you are really pregnant would be to have a blood test as this would beable to pin piont the hormones in your body. i really hope you get the result you want and i hope this helps good luck

Usually your hcg has dropped back to 0 by 4-6 weeks but you need to wait up to 8 weeks to be sure it's all gone. If after 8 weeks you still haven't gotten a period, then do a home test.

The hormone will still be there so i suggest that you go to the doctore and get a bllodtest done.A home test as i said will still read the pregnancy hormone up to 6 months to a year i believe.Search this site.

If you take a HPT it's possible that you still would have enough hormones left to show a positive on the test. You're doctor should continue to check your hormone levels until they are at zero or near it. Until then any home test won't be reliable.

After I had a D&C it took a while for my period to come back almost like giving birth it takes time for your body to recover and normal process to return.
