You would have to look this information up the lady who did the experiment is Elliot. She began the experiment in 1968 and experienced extreme racial hatred as a result of this. She is still active in fighting oppression and is still conducting workshops. There is an actual DVD of this called Blue Eyes. She is an amazing courageous woman and I wish there were many more like her.

yes. a teacher in the 50's or 60's did an experiment with her classof children, i think they were like 2nd graders. She told them that brown eyed students are less smart than blue eyed students, that blue eyed students are better, they get better grades, can run faster, etc. she told them things like this for several weeks. soon, they blue eyed kids started joing together agianst the brown eyed kids. they browneyes would be alone and left out of recess games by the blueeyes, get picked on for haiving brown eyes, etc. Then, she switched it and siad she was wrong, and that the browneyed people are really better and did this for a while. the roles reversed. At the end of a few weeks or so, she told the calss that she made it all up, and to look at what had happended. She used it as an example to teach them not to be racist, or assume physical characteristics have anything to do with how good a person is. it was a good social experimment. We watched a video clip of the acutal teacher and class in my college psych class. very interesting. the clip also showed the students later in life, and interviewed them, and they said to this day they still remember the lesson and what it taught them about stereotyping.

When I was in first grade, my teacher did a one day exercise with eye color to teach us all something about racism (similar to the other answer only not as much and only for a day).. she made us sit in class and line up, etc. based on our eye color. She didn't explain to us why she was doing this and at first we were all really confused.. then we got into it and those with "better" eyes (I think it was the brown) made fun for those with the "less worthy" eyes (I think the blue).... At the end of the day she explained what she was doing and those of us with the dark eyes who had made fun of the kids (with the light eyes who had had to line up last and sit at the back of the room and do everything last); we felt bad and we learned a lesson that - at least I haven't yet forgotten. (I'm 5 years out of college and there isn't too much I remember from 1st grade, but I still remember that day... There wasn't much of a racial mix of students in our class at the time, but I have kept the idea with me through the years and it so far has done me some good. - Don't worry - our teacher did it pretty good naturedly and at level so no one was traumatized by the event and we all learned something...) I really think it is a good exercise to do with young students...
Good luck on your project!

I don't know what you are talking about, but I do know that brown eyes are dominant in the eye color alleles and blue eyes are recessive in the eye color alleles. You can determine if your family is recessive or dominant by using Punnet squares.
