You have a message. Go to main Menu, Messages and read it

That means the cable company has sent you a message. Usually it's about up coming pay per views. Somewhere on your remote there's a button you can use for checking it. Mine it the settings button. Then there are options on what to do. One should say messages. Click on there and you should be able to read it.

I'm not sure, but on my in-laws box for their satellite
TV shows it does the same thing, they have a button on their remote that if you hit it while facing it towards the TV
a message from the satellite company will show up.
It's usually about a move on pay per view.
sorry I can't be of more help & God bless you too

You need to go into the channel guide and locate the messages. The light means you have a new message.
