I've been on the patch for almost three years and decided that I wanted to a natural menstrual cycle. I quit the patch in October. If I where still on the patch I would have had my period last week but instead I have a heavy discharge, cramps, and stomach pains. I have taken a HPT twice both time negative. Is this normal or should I see my doctor?

I have been on the pill for 3 years; in those 3 years, I have gone off of it twice, each time for one month. My period came very late both times, and each time it was heavy and my cramps were very bad. So, that is normal.

Having heavy periods is never indicative of pregnancy. The only time to worry about bleeding being indicative of pregnancy is if your period is only spotting.

I'd seek advice from your doctor or do some research online about the patch and getting off of it. Better safe than sorry.
