If there was a hole right through the center of the earth?

Alright. In order to understand the answer, you have to understand the difference between potential energy and kinetic energy. Potential energy is stored up energy. (Like a rubber band stretched and ready to snap.) Kinetic energy is moving energy. (Like the rubber band in the process of snapping.

The moment that a person steps over the hole through the earth., that person has complete potential energy. The earth's gravitation is pulling on them, but they are not yet falling. As they fall, that potential energy is converting to kinetic energy. They fall faster and faster. Once they reach the center of the earth, they have no potential energy, only kinetic energy.

This kinetic energy keeps them moving down the hole towards the other side of the earth. As they are moving away from the earth's gravitational pull, they slow down. The kinetic energy is converting back to potential.

Once they reach the surface, they once again have full potential energy and zero kinetic.

So, they yo-yo back and forth between the two mouths of the tunnel.

What ends up happening depends on if you are taking air resistance into concideration.

In a complete vacuum, the person would yo-yo between the two openings of the tunnel forever. The person's potential and kinetic energies would have an inverse relationship. Back and forth.

If you are taking air resistance into account, then some of the energy is lost from friction between the person falling and the air. (It's lost through heat energy.) During each yo-yo, the person's fall would be less and less. Eventually, all of the energy in the person would be lost through the heat energy and the person would be stuck in the center of the earth, suspended there for all time.

Kinda cool, huh?

that wouldn't be possible becasue the centermost part of gravity would attract the mass around it covering the giant hole, and if humans would somehow be able to do that without making the earth cave in on itself then the earth would become dead and lifeless because then the ground would only be heated by the sun's rays and no longer by the melted iron core, so vegitation would stop and all life would cease to exist. i can only imagine that it could happen id there were 4 identically equal gravitational masses as well as magnetic forces that would not combine into one center point, there fore it might create one land mass that would have a hole in the middledue to the equally powerful magnetic forces that would keep the land away from coming together to one point and yet with equal gravitational force that would balance it out, then i imagine it would be possible, and if someone were to fall in theoretically they would be stuck in a gravityless state and die from starvation. or they might have gotten enough speed and momentum that they may break the gravitational force and be swung into outer space and would immediately die from lack of oxygen

if you fall through the north pole hole you would fall into the earth's core and be desroyed, if you would survive(saying you are wearing a heatproof, radiation proof , and fall proof suit) you would be crushed by the immense gravity.
ps same applies for the south pole hole ;-)

yu woudl go to the centermost point of hte gravitational feild, and either incinerate or crush youself with your won weight (if you did neither) then you would fall up for a short period of time before entering a weightles state liek being in outer space as you woud be in a constant state of freefall for eternity. (theoretically)

the center of the earth is molten lava. But I can show you the largest hole in the world.

Have you seen the new Dodge commercial addressing what you just asked? Very funny.
