I've lived there(here) since '89. That depends on where you're from. I moved from Colorado. I know what cold is. My 1st winter here I was still acclimated to Colorado. I was running around in shorts & a tank top New Years Eve on the Strip. I've have since adapted to this climate and anything under 70-75 degrees I consider chilly. I would suggest a jacket not a coat. This time of year it is quite nippy in the mornings and it gets rainy (more drizzley). If you plan on going to Mt. Charleston or Byron Head then yes pack a coat.

The weather can get a little chilly this time of year. For a good explanation of what weather you'll find at any given time of the year in vegas I'd recommend http://www.lasvegasweather.us . The site has charts that show the temperature trends for all twelve months, and there's an online tool that will show you the normal and record highs and lows for any time period.

I've lived there as well.. I'm from Illinois, so i'm use to cold also. All year round, its never cold during the days. At least not to me. But the nights, can get chilly during the winter months. Not real cold in my definition, but yes chilly. Sweaters, is all you'll need. Summers your looking at damn hot, still at night. My parents came out one time to vist me in August, they arrived just AFTER midnight, and the temp was still in the 100's. Uhgggg... Horrible heat, they have! Takes ya breath away, literally.......

Not to be a smart-alek or anything, but before I travel I always check the outlook on weather.com...up to the minute forecasts and it included chill factor stuff too...
