I have been self employed all my life and make about 300,000 pounds sterling a year but want to see if i can work for a company as i want some normality and not so much travell.
There has to be a company out there that will give me a chance.

Why couldn't you put that on a cv? That's work experience just as much as anything else. How will they know your merit if you don't write it down in a cv?

I don't understand why you would think your self-employment wouldn't be considered just like a normal job.
