Republicans believe that everyone has an equal chance to succeed, so they are against Affirmative Action and the like, because, unlike Democrats, they feel that minorities have every chance to do well. Republicans believe in Equality. Republicans believe in lower taxes and free trade
Democrats are more socialist. They believe in the distribution of wealth. They believe in the expansion of a welfare state. They oppose a strong military and national defense. They are for raising taxes and more government programs

It's actually very complicated and I doubt very few people can give you an all inclusive answer. Most diffidently not on this board.
If I would to make it as simply put at possible. We all have more in common than we have apart. We all love our country. We all want what is best for our country.(true Americans that is) .
The problem comes in with the way we see the world and the way we think we are doing what is right by our country.
I see republicans wanting what is good for America by being the leaders in military might and safety and security.
Also republicans believe that it is better not to over tax people of wealth. They idea is it is those people who put into communities and spend money and start big businesses and create jobs for the majority of lower or mid class people.
Democrats believe that those who have money should pay higher taxes. and that those taxes should be used to support programs that the lower class people could not afford on their own. such as health ,education.
That explains why if you are a republican, democrats say they are for the rich and not the poor. and if you are a democrat you get accused of letting the government take care of all their needs.
that's just one part of a very complicated system. But all and all I believe they all have the best interest of the country at hand. Sometimes however making the choice has devastating outcomes.

that is honestly very complicated and that i doubt very few people can grant you with an all inclusive answer. maximum diffidently not in this board. If i might want to to make it as purely placed at conceivable. all of us have extra in difficulty-loose than we've aside. all of us love our us of a. all of us favor what's better for our us of a.(authentic individuals it really is) . the issue is equipped in with the way we see the international and how we anticipate of we are doing what's ideal by our us of a. I see republicans desiring what's solid for u.s. by being the leaders in protection force may and protection and protection. also republicans trust that that is larger now to not over tax people of wealth. They idea is that is those those who placed into communities and spend funds and commence enormous agencies and create jobs for most individuals of decrease or mid type people. Democrats trust that those who've funds could pay larger taxes. and that those taxes must be used to help courses that the decrease type people might want to not locate the money for on their personal. which incorporates well-being ,practise. That explains why if you're a republican, democrats say they're for the wealthy and by no potential the adverse. and if you're a democrat you get accused of letting the authorities look after all their desires. it really is purely one area of an rather complicated device. yet all and all i trust all of them have the finest interest of the rustic accessible. now and again besides the undeniable fact that making the alternative has devastating consequences.

both have pluses an minuses
Republicans in a nut shell are more prone to being proud no matter what (especially in time of war), believe killing a child thats still in the mother wrong no matter what, usually more religious, for lower taxes, beleive that the rich shouldn't be taxed higher because 1-the more money they keep the more their employees will be paid, 2-they already pay more bc they buy more things, 3-if you did the work to get the bigger pay check you shouldn't have to give extra money to make up for the high school drop out that works at walmart.
Democrats in a nutshell are favored more by the younger generations that dont want to be drafted for wars, are pro-choice, want national heath care and welfare (and alot dont mind that illegals get it even if they dont pay taxes for it), are more protective of the environment and animals,
theres a hundred more im sure but i cant think of any

I'll try to give a 'real' response...
Republicans believe that America is a land of opportunity. And most government rules and regulation are barriers to that opportunity. They would give examples that "over" regulation is a barrier to free trade. Let supply & demand take care of the marketplace. They believe that lower taxes will allow the $$ in the economy to 'create' jobs as the money is invested in new companies and opportunities. They believe in a strong defense and to some extent that "might makes right".
Democrats believe that all Americans are not equal. There needs to be rules and regulation in place to help people that are 'disadvantaged' by the system. They believe in a higher percentage of public works (paid for by taxes). They believe that those that make the most $$ should pay the most.
You're likely to get a lot of 'inflammatory' statements, but neither side is evil.

Come on people, she's asking a legitimate question.
Both the Republican and Democratic parties have websites where you can read their "party platform." Their platform is sort of the basic beliefs they all share.
Here's the Republicans: http://www.gop.com/
Here's the Democrats: http://www.democrats.org/

Seriously, people.
Republicans believe that people should have to earn what they get. They believe in helping those who can help themselves, but not those who simply choose not to. Republicans also believe that the best solution to problems can always be found when you let everyone in the country try to come up with a solution and then pick the best one.
Democrats believe that anyone who isn't making it is probably trying hard and should receive money from those who are making it. They also believe that the government is always the best solution to all problems.
Economics: The Republicans believe that the best economics are when more businesses are making more money and therefore able to hire more people and pay them more money.
The Democrats believe that big business is evil and should not make money. They believe that successful businesses should be taxed (punished) in order to give more to people who choose not to work hard.

basically its iq and income, the more educated a person is, the more they make, the more they make the more they want to keep for themselves, ie republican. the less educated a person is, they have worse jobs and make less money, and therefore want other peoples money, therefore democrat. thats the fiscal diferences, the social difference is basically, republicans think scifi is real and cloning is evil and so are stem cells, democrats see the benifits of medical advancements and know that someties you have to break a few eggs to make an omlet.
they both have pros and cons. but neither is 100% right (or left)

Democrats tend to be more liberal and emphasize freedom. Republicans tend to be more conservative and emphasize law and order. Its alot more complicated than that, but its a good way to start understanding.
