I am 5 months an the day before yesterday my lower part of my belly started to hurt It felt like a big gas cramp in my lower belly an my back ached a little and it lasted until the next day an yesterday the pain went away I am going to the doctor this week just wanted to know if any one else gone through this and if this was braxton hicks.

Braxton Hicks can be from a little tug so light you don't even feel them to pains in your belly so strong you think you're in real labour. The thing that makes them Braxton Hicks is that they do not get closer together, and they do not cause a change in your cervix.
Also, you could be feeling your belly growing. Braxton Hicks can start as early as 20weeks.

I am almost 26 weeks pregnant and have had alot of braxton hicks contractions with this pregnancy.I started to get them around 16 weeks actually.It feels like someone is tightening a belt around my lower stomach.It doesn't really hurt-just really tight.They come and go throughout the day.I actually woke up last night thinking I was in labor-wayyyy too early-because I was getting so many and they were actually hurting.I saw my OB today and all is well!

I don't know about other women but with my first child I'd been having BH and not even realizing it, my belly would get hard and weird shaped and I always thought it was the baby in a weird position, midwife kept asking if I'm having BH yet and I kept saying no, til it happened while I was laying on the table and she asked me if I could feel that and I was like "of course, it's a little uncomfortable, makes it slightly difficult to breathe" and she said, that was a BH contraction. I felt so stupid.. lol. Then with my second it was pretty much the same, though less uncomfortable for me, I don't know why.

when i hae braxton hicks my lower belly might hurt a little but they are usually painless. I just know with me my whole stomach hardens and may last a few minutes. its probably different for each woman but it sounds like that could be them for u.

There is an article on BH contractions on www.newbabyjubilee.com just click on 2nd trimester. Yep BH can occur at five months so read the info to find out what to do also get symptoms for false labor and real labor.
