Paul Gascoigne when he was at his best. I was lucky enough to watch him play twice for Newcastle and Tottenham (both at Highfield Road vs Coventry). He was on a different level both times. The skill and the passion were just the tip of the iceberg. He could read the game so well and had such vision. His goal against Scotland in the Euros 96 was simply divine. If I was 1/10th as good as he was back then I'd be pretty nifty. A wayward genius and a top bloke.

George Best - who wouldn't!, Johan Cruyff - sublime, Glen Hoddle - yes I mean that, he was a great player!, Gazza - the best in a generation, Zico - enough said, Maradona - minus the baggage, Pele of course - the worlds best, Cantonna - the best import? It goes on and on......
I think on balance I would love to be able to play like George Best, he had it all, skill, poise, balance, could tackle, dribble, score goals, turn games. One of the greatest the world has ever seen.

Steven Gerarrd ! Coming from a West Ham fan even after he destroyed us !! He is the total package unlike Hnery and Ronaldinho, although i dont think he is the worlds best player, becasue he isnt so effective as Henry he isnt so valuable to his team as 35/40 goals a seaons Henry ,he is the best all-round player in my eyes. But Stevie can pass, tackle, dribble, finish the lot, he is the total package and he is a real english footballer, and loyal to his beloved club.
