It's their turn.

50-100 years ago, European jobs were lost to cheaper US and Canadian labour markets.

What went around has now come around.

But in another 20 or so years India and China will have their jobs lost to even cheaper labour markets in Africa.

Such is the way of human civilization

You should read the The books given below in source. They have explained it beautifully.

The basic reason is Westerners are now
1> Too obese to work too much.
2> Too formal to work even a minute beyond office hours.
3> Able to earn more money in other professions than science.
4> Forgotten their past educational adventure & sticking more to Kewl lifestyle.
5> Indian & South east asia is finally realizing its potential.
6> Internet which enables me to answer this question sitting in India.
7> Cost is high in your place due to your obsession with everything being too perfect.
8> Decreasing tendency of Americans to go for research meaning even an average guy from India can get admission in your Ivy leagues.

Do you need anything extra? Then try to develop reading habits and read books written your own Authors such as following one. Just remember that 3rd or 4th generation americans are getting lethargic and too loathe for any innovations. Stop the immigration and your country will collpase like card palace.

US businesses will outsource labor to India because they can take advantage of lower labor costs. It is assumed that the lower labor costs are in excess of any diminshed productivity/creativity or transaction costs (the cost of having to coordinate with workers so far away). The cost savings are then either passed onto US consumers in the form of lower prices (are you happier or sadder that the cost of a dvd player has dropped from $500 to $100) or if the prices remain the same and the profit to businesses increase (same selling price, lower cost = more profit), then the increase in profitability is theoretically passed on to the shareholders of the business (ie you and me and everyone with a retirement plan that invests in the stock market) and we live more comfortably in retirment because of it.

Whenever you ask the question why do they, (where they is the business community or government) the answer is always money. India can hire programmers for what the US pays typists.
