Whatever you do, DO NOT sing "Falling" by Alicia Keys or "I Believe I Can Fly" by R Kelly.
Simon Cowell has gone on record as saying that so many people sing them that he's "allergic" to them.
Maybe try an older song or one from a musical - they tend to be easy to do and show your talents off more than a modern one. Don't be tempted to go for a barn-storming song if you have a quieter voice. Likewise, if you have a Diva's voice, go with a big brash song.
