Used to be and probably still is, the minimum union contract for a member of SAG gets $3k because it involves a "speaking" part. A speaking part guarantees in a movie you get your name in the end credits. Many donate those talk-show proceeds to charity.

I think the actor union requires that they get paid something like $200, but basically they are doing the talk shows to promote their latest gig with the hopes that they will sell more tickets, Cd's, books, what-have-you.

My understanding is that they get a nominal payment, like less than $1000. I doubt it even covers their travel, hotel, and clothing expenses for doing the show.
However, I have no source for this, so I might be wrong.

Yeah and it depends on the show for the pay. It could be anywhere from a few thousand to tens of thousands.

No matter who you are if you are on T.V ,besides you local news, you are compensated for your time. how much i have no clue depends who is paying and who is on the talk show.
