Yankees of course!! The most successful professional sports franchise in the world. A century of greatness with 39 American League Championships and 26 World Series Championships. Names like Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Roger Maris, and of course Mickey Mantle speak volumes of the teams greatness over the years. Next year we will win our 40th American League Championship and 27th World Series Championship.

Until recently the Yankees won me over. There is a mystique about the franchise. Whenever you watch a Red Sox game on the television, a majority of their starting line-up was acquired via trade or free agency. Whereas the Yankees, you know have a good number of players that have come up through the farm system. The Red Sox are lousy, they cannot win the division crown--last time was in 1995. The only other team to win the AL East was the 1997 Orioles. Furthermore, here is my final thought. I live out in the Los Angeles area and check out the American League Angels. Whenever the Sox come to Anaheim, the fans sympathetic to the Red Sox are rude and obnixious. The Yankee fans while yes can be obnixious, but are really nice and down to Earth fans. I tried to talking to Red Sox fans sitting next to me and I cannot even carry a civilized conversation--they think their team is going to win the World Series. Whereas, you talk with the pinstrip fan and we are taking about the strengths and weakness of both the Angels and Yankees.

I am a life-long Yankee fan, born and raised in upstate New York. I've been there for everything, 114-48 in '98, and 67-95 in 1990. I've stuck with them through the good and bad.

I love these Red Sox fans! They are so easy to talk about the "$200 million dollar payroll". As if theirs is among the lowest in the game. Yes, the Yankees payroll is high, but the Red Sox should be happy. What is their payroll. $125-$130 million? It hides the fact that theirs is astronomical too. The Yankees have dumped $25 million in payroll so far, by getting rid of Sheffield and Wright, and by singing Mussina to a smaller deal. The Red Sox, on the other hand, bid $42 MILLION, just for the rights to a pitcher who has never pitched in America. Once he signs he will cost over $80 MILLION. They are also the front runners for the over-rated, oft-injured J.D. Drew, and Buster Olney thinks they will sign him for $50 MILLION. Gee, it looks like the salary gap between the mean old Yankees and the thrifty Red Sox is narrowing!

By the way, the Red Sox hold the record for team with the highest salary ever to win a World Serics, more than the 2000 Yankees. You can look it up.

Yankees baby! Although my man (the Iron Sheff) is gone.

Hey Akfak, I know the Yankees do those things, but don't be a hypocrite.

-The Yankees buy people instead of stadagize
---Uh, Daisuke Matsuzaka?
-Red Sox have better Minor league teams
---Yeah, probably until Theo Epstein gave away your jewels for washed-up players.
-Yankees use minors as trade bate
---Who is the National League Rookie of the Year I say? So you're telling me Hanley Ramirez wasn't trade bait for Josh Beckett?
-Only quality player on the Yankees is Cano
---If you mean quality as in a full-fledged Yankee, it's Cano and Jeter. That's not saying much on your end though, seeing Ortiz and Ramirez and Schilling never started out as BoSox. If you meant otherwise, look at the lineup.

The Yankees rule, plain and simple. 27 Championships. The sox wen 86 years without one. Enough said right there.
To the MORON that said the Yankees buy players, HOW MANY current sox came from the farm system? MAnny? Ortiz? Schilling? Yawn! Typical jealous loser sox fan that cannot face facts.
Factor this with all the violence that breaks out in Boston during the post season, win or lose. You don't see any cars lit on fire in New York during the playoffs.

I am a Yankee fan, and dislike the Red Sox, however, I find the Yankees sad at times in the playoffs and they seem to make worse moves than the Red Sox, but I am still definitely a Yankees fan.

red sox all the way......ok im going to be a respectful as i can...but the yankees just seen like they can't work together. There just a bunch of over paid and over rated players. People always say that "o the yankees are going to win they're stacked" But dude wat happened the past...how many years? U go into the play offs looking and acting all cocky and u choke. The team looks to serious for me. On the other hand, the red sox work together and have fun playing the game.Ya.... we only won 1 championship in 86 years.

Red Sox. I was brought up in New England and was bred to be a Sox fan. But I think most people are either fans of the Red Sox, White Sox, Cubs and I could keep going. It is easy to cheer for a team that has been in one third of all the world series. Why not cheer for the teams that can't win every year.
