I think having too much money can be the root of all evil.
I also think having too much money can be satisfying for one.
it all depends on how u use you money to get what you want.
When u have money you have status and when u have status you have power..and if u use your power for useless things..it does not serve any purpose or accomplish anything good in society.
when u have money and power and use it for accomplishing and fulfilling practical and realistic goals then it becomes meaningful to u as well as society.

for me money is very important. i couldn't live with any less money then i currently have.
