Is there aging on the Sims for PS2?

I've had my original Sims for the PC since the week it came out. Then Sims 2 came out and it took about a week to load. Anyway..for some reason I'm itching (?) to play the game again. But I've read in reviews for Sims 2 (for PS2) that there's no aging. So does anyone who has the Sims (the original) for the PS2 know if the sims age?

On the PS2, for Sims and Sims 2, the characters do NOT age. I believe they do on Sims 2 on PC. Sims has never had aging, which is why it's so annoying to adopt a baby.
