I want to get my husband and five year old son a combined gift of a game system for Christmas. There are a few choices and I'm not sure which one would be the best - X-Box, Playstation, Nintendo...
It's for both of them and I'd like for them to be able to play it together.
Suggestions?

Well Nintendo's Wii is more geared towards the younger Generation and has more child oriented games.Sony (the best choice) has games for everyone.It has the largest Library of games in the history of Games.The sony Playstation 3 may be expensive but is worth it considering all it does ( it has a built in Blu-ray player, a $1000 all its own plus many other expensive Features)and has some of the best games for all ages coming soon. the X-Box 360 is also for The more mature Gamer And Has a great collection of games which will soon include Halo 3. My advice is to get the Playstation 3 this Christmas or the X-Box 360 whichever you can get and the other one next year because a Game systems lifespan* last about 5 years and ur son will be ten at the end of these games' lifespan.
* When the company retires a game system and is on the verge of launching the next

X-box has beter capabilities, like ripping music info from a CD and using it as a soundtrack for your games. Playstation has great games and awesome graphics, as does the X-box and Nintendo Wii. Nintendo Wii has a totally different, and advanced, gameplay network which measures LOTS of things when you wave the "nunchuk" that comes with it.
If you want games for kids that adults would like, try out the Nintendo Wii, and get Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess,
OMG i want that game soooo bad!
Go with Playstation. Simpler gameplay, controls are the same (i think) and playstation has been around for some ten years now, that might be the way to go.

you should get them Nintendo because they have more games for the system then any other game that i had ever seen.

XBox 360... its WAY cheaper than the PS3 and Wii. i have one and its really fun.
