I have a Verizon freedom pkg that includes caller id and i have net waiting on my computer so if some one calls it flashes on my computer screen. I can have net waiting disabled so that the phone will brake the internet connection when some one calls or I can have it set so that it just alerts me the phone is ringing. But i do have satelite tv because where I live cable is not avbl and my satelite comes thru the phone system.

In a nutshell - no. I asked this question of my provider and the answer was 'no'. Now I wonder (since I made it clear I am willing to pay...whatever) whether it isn't because 'They' haven't found a profitable way do do it, yet.How cynical can I get?

yes, get another land line. one for internet only and one for receiving calls.
oh wait, it'll just be cheaper to dump both landlines, get cable internet and use Vonage to get phone calls.
