Invalid clicks is a "catch all" term that they use, but it does not always mean that the publisher cheated. It can mean anywhere from clicking on your own ads, labeling the ads, inciting visitors to support the site and click on the ads, etc. It can even mean low quality traffic, or someone (if not you) may have enticed people to click on your ads in the forums where you posted your site.

It will not be up to Google to prove to you how they caught what they deemed as fraudulent clicks on your site. They will not show you the IPs of those who clicked. Instead, explain to them in a very professional manner that you never caused invalid clicks and send them your logfiles to help prove your case.

You have to remember that the first responsibility of Google is to satisfy their advertisers, where the money comes from; and not the publishers. They need to protect the interests of advertisers at all cost. As a result, any clicks perceived to be less than above-board are investigated oftentimes leading to the cancellation of the account of the advertiser.

There have been many cases of publishers whose account was initially disabled but reinstated from the program. Here are some threads from Webmasterworld.com of such cases:

Firstly, Adsense can be worth it on some sites. It works better on sites which can update dynamically such as blogs, but may work on you www.bellohair.com

To get unbanned, you need to get in touch with Google adsense team and offer them something. Ask them if they can offer specifics, and in return you will trawl your server logs and give them details of the IP address that delivered these clicks.

Be honest - if you did click on your own ads, then they have you bang to rights, and lying won't get you anywhere.

A big apology won't work. Saying 'I did wrong and won't do it again' won't work. - Saying "I did this, I didn't know it was wrong" may work.

If you don't want to put work in, then call it a bad job and move on to the yahoo equivalent. I have never used it, but I am told it is just as good a way to monetise your site.

Yes, there are a lot of people that have the same problem as you do. I'm afraid there is not much to do than to send an e-mail to Google Adsense, maybe they will consider that they've made a mistake.

I know people that did the same thing and solved the problem, others didn't, dough...

I'm sorry, this is Yahoo! We don't discuss the competition here.

Can I help you with the Yahoo! Publisher Network?
