Investments with a doubling would be a geometric sequence. Terms depend on a *multiplication* of previous terms, so it is geometric.

e) expodential ....

A = P e^ (RT) ... a is amount saved w/ intrest, p is principle amount (starting amount), r is rate (.08, .06, ....) and t = time

use the rule of 72 to estimate your time of doubling

at 6%, 72 / 6 = 12 years....
( 2 = 1e^(.06t))
latural log (2) = .06t
ln(2) / .06 = t

11.5524 = t ( 12 is a good guess)
