I know that the Boycott is now going strong, but what are other people doing to stop Macys?? Letters to corprate? Blogs I have seen a few at www.fieldfanschicago.org what are your ideas??

I am just Boycotting. Some people are taking it further, handing out bumperstickers and selling "Chicago SHOPS at FIELDS not macys" T-shirts. It appears that it is working. If you look at Macys numbers from fields stores they are really in the toliet. I guess that a New york company does well in NY but Chicago is Chicago. "theres no place Like FIELDS!"

Personally, I think people that are "boycotting" Macy's are wasting their time. Marshall Fieds will never be "reinstated". Macy's bought it fair and square, and boycotting, if its effective at all, can only cause the store to close or be resold, again. Had Macy's not purchased it, they would of just folded and we would have nothing. Its still a beautiful store, not much has changed except for the name.
What everyone should do is learn from this and actually shop at your favorite stores before they too get bought out...

Change is good!
Same store, same people, same managers, same quality merchandise, maybe even better, lower prices on some stuff
