New Labour seem to have ignored the British public's concerns over Europe as it did with Iraq. New Labour are to remove much of our rights to freedom of speach and are adopting fascist tactict's to control the country, New labour have introduced secret police and are generaly seeking to imprison those that speak out. So what do you think the chances are that we the British public will get our say on Europe.

Boring old fart-In 1975 the referendum was to provide a closed trading agreement with seven member states for echonomic reasons. The referendum was not based on the sovereignty or our country or constitutional passing of power to a European super state. Cheap flights ar not a good enough reason to sell your countries right to exist. down the drain. The terrorist activity aimed at this country can only be put down to bad leadership and Tony Blair. As far as secret police are concerned have you not been reading the papers on several occasions people have objected to certain issues, i.e. the religious
lay preacher who quoted the bibles views on homosexuality, took to a local police station, fingerprinted interogated for eight hours and locked in a cell whilst being systmatcaly brainwashed to forget there views with threats of further action (Nazi styl) and this same treatment is now standard police practice by secret police specialy trained. Court threw case out but other cases reported

The referendum to join the 'Common Market' was back in the 1970's and was a resounding yes. So, there has been a referendum on the EU. Leaving the EU is also fraught with many problems, not at least the Visa situation... i.e. you would not be able to travel on a booze cruise without a Visa and would have to pay UK taxes on the ciggys and vino you bought back. You would not be able to just jump on a cheap flight to any EU country as you can now without a visa, which could take three months to get due to interviews etc because of the recent terrorist problems. As for freedom of speech, you may be correct that a number of our freedoms have been curtailed, but we havent quite got to sending people who ask questions like this to the cncentration camps yet (next week maybe!). Where are the secret police seeking to imprison you that you write about? The fact that you have asked this question shows this is a conspiracy theory. As for a say on Europe.... not a cat in hells chance!

Until the voting system is reformed in this country it wont make any difference even if we are given a chance to be involved in these life effecting decisions.I doubt Tony Blair would allow the public to have their say at all anyway! He will simply change the law as it suites him so no one is allowed to disagree.
Seriously until there is proportional representation it wont help...did you know Labour suffered terribly at the last elections but still got in because even if a candidate gets 6 votes and there are only 6 people in his town that counted the same way as 1000's somewhere else(.What I mean is individual votes should count ,not the seats won in different areas)politics is such a joke and Tony knows it

I don't think we want to get any more red tape and rules than we have already, we are already in Europe in all but changing our currency to euros. What I would like to know is when are we going to have a referendum to get out of Europe and start to run our country again with rules and laws that meet our needs not the needs of the big boys of Europe (France & Germany)

A referundum is likely to get a "No" answer, so the only party who'd call for a referendum would be UKIP or BNP - as they're not likely to get into power (and the other parties would want a "yes" vote) no-ones going to call a referendum.
Why ask a question when you know you're not going to get the answer you want?

As already stated we joined EU in 1975, but Blair is gradually giving all our rights away, how long before we have the Euro, driving on the right, kilometers not miles, the list goes on and on. As long as Blair and his cronies are in, and as long as they have holes up their a*ses, we the British public will NOT get our say in Europe.

There was a referendum in Britain on going into the EU, it took place on 5th June 1975 and was the first time I ever voted. The "yes" vote got over 67% of the vote.

I know his highness Tony thinks the UK is the 51st US state, but I think you'll find that the UK is already part of the European Union. That's what it says on my passport.
My God! is it false?
