Yes, definitely - why prolong the agony? he should bite the bullet and go now. Thing is, I don't think he will do that until he has his next job lined up - hopefully anywhere but in this country.

The problem is this: while I have many complaints and problems with some of things that have gone on, I also know that we will be hard pressed to find better than Blair. That is the starck truth that all Brits need to face. Why is our country unable to put forward a better quality of person for public office?

I wish he hadn't announced anything at all...it's painful to watch him go through the moves during his last year or so as party leader and as PM. I think he's a decent guy and he's definitely easy on the eyes.
Personally, though I'm not Labour, I think he's done a pretty good job overall. Let's face it, who's going to step in after him and do any better?

Will it make any difference? As reality dawns on many more of us, as to the true extent of the stealthy rape of Britain gradually comes to light, and just as the nation thinks we must surely have hit rock bottom and that things can surely only get better, the spectre of an omnipotent Brown hammering the final nails into our communal coffin emerges..................... Long goodbye........short goodbye, the outcome will make no difference.

Yeah, but what's the alternative? NO ONE in politics seems to be doing a good job - in fact we should scrap government & elect a group of respected pillars of the community to answer for us.

Yes it would be better if we got rid of Blair and Labour altogether

In theory, yes. But then we'll be left with Gordon Brown or John Reid. Eeeuuww!!!

Blair has lost what little credibility he had to start with so yes he should go very soon.
The harder question is who to replace him with?
