Go to the SIA website and have a look the licence takes five days course based on theory and practical tests, its not cheap so you its probably best to try to find a company who will take the expenses, bear in mind you will undergo a full disclosure(criminal records check) and will also go through a vetting test to prove ant bankrupcies.
But the latter doesent mean if you arent solvent you wont get the licence so its not too bad to worry about.
when you take the door supervisors test theory will involve some criminal law and conflicct management, however the theory needs practice so they will show you some talking down techniques also.
if yo do take the licence my advice is to get some form of control and rerstraint training as to protect yourself against any additional harm.
all in all its a good thing to do but be warned when you get your licence and take your first door, be concise and firm, but not pushy peoples backs go up quickly if felt in any way manipulated or controlled especially afetr a night out.
otherwise have fun and the best of luck.
youll be fine.

you will need to have a 10 year criminal record check, and complete the SITO Door Supervisors course for your licence, price varies on the examiner 200- 350, but S.I.A licence will still be an additional 175. so it isn't cheap to be in security. best way is to get the job and have the owner of club to assist in the training and licence fee's
