I have purchased something off of the seller bigjohnocean on ebay, and I was wondering if any of you have had dealings with this seller, his feedback is mixed, good and bad, but I'm beginning to have my suspicions about him, he refuses to acknowledge he has recieved my payment and has sent the item out. I'm leaving reasonable time for him to send the goods before I report him to ebay, but that is not the point, I could lose a not inconsiderable amount of money if this gets dragged out beyond the 60 day dispute time with ebay and paypal, worried, very worried.

How did you pay? if it was paypal then the 60 day rule does not apply. Contact EBAY anyhow and lodge a complaint, though they tell you to leave it 14 days after you paid for it. I only hope you didn't pay by cash as then you don't have a leg to stand on. If it's by cheque then photocopy the statement blackening everything other than the transaction. You can get their address off the help page. Make sure when you send him an email you go onto his page and go through 'contact seller' that way each email is recorded by ebay. Good luck.

How long has it been?
You can file a dispute with ebay and they will give you the phone number of the seller who you can contact... I once had to do this over a £400 item and discovered that the seller had a heart attack and was in hospital which was why I had not yet recieved my goods.

However the mixed feedback you mention does not sound good.... I would give it a few more days then start taking proceedings to obtain a refund.

If you've contacted them enough times, over a certain period and they haven't contacted you back, I would report them to ebay. I usually chase after a week - if I here nothing I give them two weeks in case they are on holiday. After three weeks I would be LIVID and would certainly report them to ebay and take the process that way. Good luck - I hope you get this sorted out.

Not dealt with this seller but my experience of e-bay is that they favour the seller over the buyer in any disputes. Make sure that you keep any e-mails to do with your transaction and file a dispute. If you can prove you have payed then thats half the battle......good luck!

contrary to an answer you dont get your money back even if through ebay and paypal, didnt deal with this fellow but another stiffed me, I went throught he resolution process (which I am sure amounts to ebay emailing the seller) and when they dont get a repsonse they email you and say sorry thats all folks.
Its a risk buying on ebay but thats why you get cheap stuff, good luck anyway.

If you got a receipt from paypal you have proof. By the way it is 40 days for ebay and paypal. Stick it to him. There are too many cowboys on ebay.

Make your complaint to Paypal. They will send him an email. You have about 30 days after that to request your money from Paypal. Don't wait that long. If he is going to do anything he will do it within a week. After that week, ask for a refund from Paypal.

Don't worry, if he stiffs you and you paid by credit card via paypal you are insured to recover the whole amount.
If he does screw you over, hound him like a dog and report him to the police because it's theft!
