hmm, ambiguous. If you are going to nail, I suggest you ensure you have a big enough hammer. Do you ? Glue can just make an awful mess and not complete the job. Then of course, there are screws. Job done.

If she is wanting it to be permanently attached I suggest you use a heavy duty construction adhesive such as Liquid Nails then screw into the studs. Just screwing it in can be pulled out or can fall off and injury someone. Gluing it first ensures it stays.

headboards are out there so 1954, the only kind of headboard you need nowadays is a nice built in one, so less of the banging
