I think he's trying to do both... America is not every country's mother and Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11...
This country is literally falling apart because we concentrate so much about what's going on outside our borders we stop careing about ourselves. We "punish" countries that do wrong and we give "allowance" money to countries that are short on their feet. Is this really our job? No! We made it our job now everyone expects us to fight their wars for them and help them out, meanwhile our people are hurting, our people are starving, and our people are homeless.
Why do us as Americans matter less to our government than everybody else?

yes, he wants to add more states to his United ones, and more free oil, well it is not relly free, it costs much than others, it costs innocents blood and lifes!
he wants the whole middle east, not only Iraq, he just started with iraq because he had a "reason" to start a war, a reason that was created step by step, and that his father started many eyars ago
anyway, all what we watch on tv and what we hear from iraqian and also american soldiers is really painful and dangerous, it's an unfair situation!
