As long as it's INSIDE the diaper, of course you can. That's what they're made for. Personally I didn't care for it. It smelled and didn't always "link" the diapers like it was supposed to. Diapers get put in a plastic grocery bag and placed in the garbage.

I have a 4 month old baby and I put the pee diapers in the genie but I choose not to put the poop diapers in as they are pretty smelly!

Poop goes into the toilet, read the directions on the diaper package. Think about all that crap wrapped up in a diaper and sitting in a landfill forever-gross!

The diapers are put in there but in all honesty, the thing isnt worth it. The refills are not cheap and it's more trouble then it's worth. A regular garbage bucket with a lid is fine.

That is what it is for. Personally, I hated the thing - the room still smelled when I used that. I just keep plastic grocery bags in the changing area and throw them in the trash outside when I'm done changing my son.
