Well......My belief is....By refusing or choosing to say.."Happy Holidays"instead of "Merry Christmas".you are removing CHRIST from Christmas who is actually the reason for this day.....
And to those people who are offended by it...you can choose to ignore the comment and just walk on by....it won't ruin your day or change your life in any way....stop using this as a way to get attention.

Ok..I'm ready for those thumbs down....but.....it won't change my opinion....

and to ALL....MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!!!!

It's not disrespectful. It is said to include all holidays. I am noticing that alot of Christians get upset about this and that really upsets me! Christmas is not the only holiday and I really wish some people did not think that December is only theirs.

It's not a question of not offending people at all! Happy Holidays includes all holidays. Being offended that they do not NOT say Merry Christmas is self serving.

I work at a large hospital in Michigan. Last year we were told to only say "Happy Holidays" and not "Merry Christmas" to the patients. This was supposed to be "less offensive" to the diverse crowd we get. I personally think that is ridicules! Some patients swung the other way and were irritated that we didn't say Merry Christmas! You can never make everyone happy! I would think that Best Buy is under the same delusion.

it's disrespectful because the main reason people are shopping at their stores is because it's Christmas! not any other holiday. Other holidays are not at the same time. I know no other holiday that falls on Dec 25. Stores that don't say Merry Christmas do not get my money.;

I know Wal Mart and other stores did that last year they say because it infringes on peoples rights. I think people who don't celebrate Christmas should get over it I know a lot of people who don't celebrate Christmas and they are not disrespectful to people who do wish them a Merry Christmas I'm so sick of all this politically correct crap. My doctor one time asked how was my Christmas and before I could answer her she started apologizing like she did something wrong and then she told me that they were not allowed to discuss Christmas or Easter with patients unless they brought it up first.

This has been an on going issue. Its because they don't want to offend anybody who doesn't celebrate Christmas. But i also think its disrespectful to not say it. why go for how many years of saying it to just saying "happy holidays".

*wal-mart anounced they will go back to saying merry Christmas"

They have chosen to wish people Happy Holidays, because they are aware that not everyone celebrates Christmas. Some celebrate Hanukkah, some celebrate Kwanzaa. Depending on your faith, it might not be appropriate to say Merry Christmas, so they're extending cheer to those who celebrate differently.

You know, it's funny. For years, Christians have been complaining about the commercialization of Christmas and stores have been insulting their religion by using Christ's name to sell merchandise.

But they as soon as stores start doing what the Christians demand and stop using Christ to promote commercialism, the very same Christians start complaining that they are "taking the Christ out of Christmas"

I think it stems from a deep-seated need that Christians have to feel that they are being persecuted....

It's not disrespectful!!! It would be disrespectful if they did use "Merry Christmas"!!! Christian religion is not the only religion that celebrates a holiday at this time of year. So "Happy holidays" is the only way to acknowledge everyone's beliefs without offending or leaving someone out.

its because not everyone celebrates Christmas.
To be fair they use happy holidays instead because alot of major holidays ( Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and some others) are around the same time in December.
